Punjab CM Launches Phase-II of Scholarship Program to Support 30,000 Students Annually
Maryam Nawaz Shareef the chief minister of Punjab has launched the Honhar scholarship program’s second phase, which is aimed at funding the education of 30,000 students per annum.
this program will cover all the expenses related to education for deserving students of Punjab, making a step for them to pursue higher education without financial hurdles. The Punjab’s next 4 years would be fully funded by the Government.
A Game-Changer for Punjab’s Students
during the event at FAST National University in Islamabad, the CM stressed the importance of accessible education, particularly for financially weak students. 100% of tuition fee will be covered by the Government she highlighted. She also highlighted that this program will enable students to attend top universities with accommodation without financial strain.
Key Details of Phase-II
Eligibility: Students under 22 with a Punjab domicile and parents’ income below Rs 300,000 are eligible for this program.
Scope: This program is available for 65 universities, 12 medical and dental colleges, and 359 colleges across Punjab.
Fields: This program will cover 68 subjects, offering diverse opportunities for students.
Transparency: Enrollment applications are processed through an online portal, with a thorough review by a provincial committee.

Now, Phase-II includes 2,570 students from Rawalpindi alone, with a significant number from UET Lahore. As, In Phase-I, 2,473 scholarships were awarded.

Of the total scholarships, 1,660 are for students at public universities, and 637 are for those at private institutions, ensuring broad accessibility.
